What Now?

You've felt the Holy Spirit tugging at your heart. You've acknowledged, through prayer, that you are a sinner and want to turn from sin and follow Christ. Now what?

First, welcome into God's fold. You have family here as we are all sisters in Christ.

Second, establish a prayer habit now. Do not be afraid of prayer. There are no special way to pray, just talk to God. If you are a list maker, then here are four steps you can use when you come to God:
  1. Praise - praise God who He is
  2. Confess - being a Christian does not mean you will not sin. Sometimes, you will slip up.
  3. Thank - thank God for His blessings and, yes, the trials
  4. Ask - this is where you share yours and others needs with the Lord, understanding God's answer may not be what you expect. Just know that God's Will is perfect. (Remember to pray even for the needs of your enemy.)
Second, get a Bible, if you can't afford one, let me know. I will see what I can do to you get one. In the meantime, there are many Bibles online. Also, check out the "Books I Recommend" list to the right. There is an inexpensive Bible that is easy to understand for new Christians.

Third, I want to introduce you to a free book from Lifeway. It is a free download. Click this link http://www.lifeway.com/Article/discipleship-free-resource-new-believers-claude-king click on one of the links to Week One to download the document. This is an excellent one week journey for a new Christian.

Fourth, find a church. The first church you find may not be the church for you, but don't give up. Keep searching and you will find one that fits like a glove. If you are unable to attend church, there are more than a few excellent media sources to help you grow in your Christian life. I would appreciate it if you would follow this blog as well!

Fifth, TELL OTHERS! This is one of the toughest things to do as a new Christian.

Sixth, be sure to post about your journey below and get involved in discussions. Ask questions.

Seventh, rejoice in The Lord, He is so happy that you have finally heard His call!

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
